About Cashiers Quilters
Cashiers Quilters is an unincorporated nonprofit association. We are a group of quilters with all levels of expertise, from novice to advanced, who love to get together once a week, share our talents and learn from each other. Please come join us for a day, a month or all year!
Cashiers Quilters meet every Thursday at Saint Jude Catholic Church on Hwy #64 in Sapphire, across from Mica's Restaurant and Pub, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Come join us for lunch each Thursday at 11:30 at a local restaurant and meet afterwards at the church. Check the "lunch schedule" for location.
As a group, we make flannel lap blankets that are distributed to seniors and shut-ins each Christmas season through the Jackson County Department on Aging. Several times each year, we feature educational workshops conducted by outside experts and our own member-experts that cover a broad range of related subjects, from fabric dyeing to construction techniques. Sometimes we organize field trips to interesting locations. Some of our members make quilts to donate to area shelters or deserving military veterans, others work on "prayer blankets" at area churches. We lend a hand in various community endeavors.
Cashiers Quilters presents a quilt show every two years to display our quilts and projects and to sell hand crafted items and baked goods. Please watch our website for our next quilt show!
